Business & Data Analyst

HopeResults — Ucall operation (Angola)

  • The only data analyst in an operation serving more than 40 client accounts, across banking, insurance, government, aviation and telecommunications.
  • Own the demand forecasting cycle for voice and social-media queues averaging ~3,500 contacts a day: 30-day-ahead models in production for over a year at ~8% mean daily error, with weekly coverage analysis and forecast-error reporting.
  • Built the company-wide absenteeism analysis from scratch — quarterly reporting, a daily alert system, and Bradford Factor and absence-spell metrics to separate frequent short absences from long-term cases.
  • Applied social network analysis to detect co-absence patterns between employees, informing shift composition.
  • Built the analytical business case for a new outbound sales operation, combining panel modelling with seasonal forecasting and scenario projections.
  • Design and maintain the Power BI and Excel reporting used across accounts, including automated daily refresh.
2020 — 2023

Workforce Management Specialist

Foundever — Airbnb account

  • Real-time analysis — monitored operations as they happened, spotting deviations early enough to act on them rather than explain them afterwards.
  • Reporting — built and analysed the intraday and historical reporting that gave management and the client their view of KPIs, trends and efficiency.
  • Scheduling — produced agent schedules balancing forecast workload against operational constraints.
  • Developed internal tools and web applications in Google Apps Script and Sheets, used daily by the analysis team.

  • Processed and analysed the project data, and co-authored the resulting publications.

Freelance

Data Analyst & Statistical Consultant

Freelance

  • Statistical consulting for master's and doctoral research across psychology, economics, biology, medicine, environmental engineering and sports science.
  • Worked with students on study design, analytical strategy and interpretation — often the part where a supervisor had said "do the statistics" without saying which.
2012 — 2017
Univ. Coimbra

Researcher & Invited Lecturer

Forensic Sciences Centre / Lab. of Forensic Anthropology

  • Applied research in forensic identification: data collection, processing and statistical analysis.
  • Lectured and ran practical sessions in forensic anthropology and forensic statistics.
  • MEPROCS (2012–2014) — collected, processed and analysed craniofacial data for a European project developing new identification methodology, and designed the validation studies that tested whether it actually worked across laboratories.
  • Co-authored peer-reviewed articles and a book chapter. See Publications.
