Peer-reviewed work in forensic anthropology, craniofacial identification and health research — most of it produced within international collaborations.
Between 2012 and 2019 I worked as a researcher at the Forensic Sciences Centre of the University of Coimbra and, later, at the Research Unit for Health Sciences. Most of this output comes from MEPROCS, a European project on craniofacial superimposition that brought together forensic laboratories across Europe to test whether different identification approaches actually agree with each other.
The recurring theme is one I never left: what happens when a method is evaluated properly. Several of these papers exist because a widely used technique had never been validated across laboratories, and the results were not what practitioners assumed.
